Overnight lane restrictions for motorists on Garrity near I-84 Interchange Wednesday and Thursday nights
BOISE -  Nampa-area motorists can expect lane configuration changes and restrictions on Garrity Boulevard overnight both Wednesday and Thursday (Feb. 2 and 3) near the Garrity Interchange while crews replace the traffic-signal cameras on each of the I-84 on- and off-ramps.

Weather permitting, the Idaho Transportation Department advises that the work will take place overnight between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Two lanes southbound and one lane northbound will be open by the morning commute and during the day.

The new cameras will help reduce congestion near the intersections by triggering the signals during peak traffic hours and coordinating their timing with other lights along Garrity Boulevard to increase the flow of traffic.

Concrete Placing Co. Inc., of Boise, is the contractor on this $15 million project.

For Incident Response service on I-84 or the Connector (I-184) in the Treasure Valley, please call Idaho State Police Dispatch at 846-7500 or *ISP. Incident Response can assist motorists with flat tires, dead batteries, vehicles out of gas, radiator re-fills, calling a tow truck, or use of a cell phone.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
