Westbound ramp detours will continue Wednesday night (Feb. 2) between Broadway and Cole exits on I-84
BOISE - A series of westbound ramp closures will continue on Wednesday night (Feb. 2) while the Idaho Transportation Department installs new signage on I-84 in Boise.
The detours will affect
westbound traffic at the Broadway, Vista and Orchard interchanges between 10
p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday.
- At the Broadway Interchange, the westbound on-ramp
(to I-84) will be closed. Motorists who need to enter westbound I-84 will be
directed south on Broadway and through a detour route to Vista Avenue, where
they can access I-84.
- At the Vista Interchange, the westbound off-ramp
(from I-84) will be closed. Westbound motorists who need to exit at Vista
Avenue must exit early at Broadway and follow the same detour route to Vista
Avenue.
- At the Orchard Interchange, motorists who need to
exit at Orchard must exit early at Broadway, follow the detour route and
re-enter I-84 at Vista.
The detour route will be south of the interstate and will be
marked with signs and flaggers. A map of the route is available here.
All lanes and ramps will be open on eastbound I-84. At least
one lane of westbound I-84 will be open between the Broadway Interchange and
the Wye Interchange.
The work will be rescheduled in the case of inclement
weather. Drivers are encouraged to check 5-1-1 for updated information.
Restrictions will continue at the Orchard ramps on Thursday
night.
The new signage is part of a project to widen I-84 to eight
lanes between Broadway and Cole/Overland. The project is scheduled to be
completed in summer 2011.
