Washington Street lane closure beginning Monday
TWIN FALLS - Minor work on a manhole will disrupt the work suspension on Washington Street and require a lane closure beginning Monday (Feb. 7) in the southbound lane, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Crews will adjust an exposed utility manhole between Falls Avenue and Robbins Avenue. The work requires concrete placement. The closure is expected to last about a week to allow the concrete time to cure.
The contractor, DEBCO Construction of Orofino, is allowed to suspend work without penalty until March. No further work has been scheduled. Work is expected to continue as winter weather subsides.
Drivers are reminded to use caution through the construction zone and watch for uneven pavement between Filer and Falls Avenues throughout the winter months.
When complete next summer, the new roadway will include a storm water drainage system, center median with left turn bays, bicycle lanes, new sidewalk, illumination and traffic signals between Wirshing Avenue and Cheney Drive.
The federally funded $6.5 million project is sponsored by the city of Twin Falls and administered by ITD.
