U.S. 93 to be closed south of Salmon Wednesday (Oct. 5) afternoon for blasting
RIGBY - U.S. 93 south of Salmon will be closed for about two hours Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 5) for blasting on the rock embankment above the road, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The blasting is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at milepost 296.6. The road will remain closed for about two hours while the debris is cleared from the highway. The crew plans to have the road open in time to avoid delays to school bus schedules.

Transportation department crews will be working in the area for the next two weeks as part of an on-going program in District 6 to eliminate hazards from falling rock.

Motorists can expect minor traffic delays during the next two weeks, but further blasting is not planned.
