ConocoPhillips shipment safely completes third leg of trip on U.S. 12
KOOSKIA - An oversized ConocoPhillips load traveling U.S. 12 safely moved about 30 miles east of Kooskia, arriving at a pullout at 3:11 a.m. Wednesday, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
One semi truck was delayed longer than the allowed 15 minutes by the load. The load slowed during a brief snow squall as a safety measure. The semi truck followed the load until it reached a turnout. The estimated delay for the truck was an additional 25 minutes.
The shipment started from Kooskia at 10:01 p.m. Tuesday (PST).
The ConocoPhillips load will resume its journey tonight at 10 (weather permitting) and will travel approximately another 30 miles. The load is tentatively scheduled to travel into Montana Thursday night/Friday morning.
The oversized load and three others scheduled to follow are limited to travel between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Each load will travel from Lewiston to the Idaho/Montana border.
Transports will stop at designated pullouts along the 174-mile route to allow vehicles to safely pass. ConocoPhillips established a toll-free information line, updated daily at noon, for reports on the shipment. The number is (866) 535-0138.
