Stretch of U.S. 95 in Owyhee County to be repaved this summer
BOISE - A two-lane stretch of U.S. 95, from the Idaho/Oregon border northeast into Owyhee County, will be repaved for about 16 miles in a project this summer, the Idaho Transportation Department announced..

Access ITD's Facebook page here for a map of the project location.

The first portion of the project will be done using the CRABS (Cement Recycled Base Asphalt Stabilization) method. The remainder of the highway will require an overlay with a SALSA (Stress Absorbing Straight Layer of Asphalt.

The project is expected to be open to bids from contractors this spring.

The Idaho Transportation Department is in charge of all roads within the state highway system - interstates, state highways and U.S. routes. All other roads are the responsibility of the local city or county entity.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
