I-84 lane restrictions between Cole/Overland and Broadway will start tonight
BOISE -  East- and westbound motorists can expect two weeks of intermittent overnight lane restrictions on I-84 between the Cole/Overland and Broadway interchanges starting tonight (Thursday, Feb. 24).

One lane will be closed in each direction from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The contractor will be preparing to move eastbound traffic onto new pavement. The work involves paving, moving guardrail and striping.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution. Construction trucks are entering and exiting the work zone near the Broadway Interchange.

All work is weather dependent.

The restrictions are part of a project to widen I-84 to eight lanes between the Cole and Broadway interchanges. Construction is expected to be completed in summer 2011.

The Idaho Transportation Department is in charge of all roads within the state highway system -  interstates, state highways and U.S. routes. All other roads are the responsibility of the local city or county entity.
