ConocoPhillips oversized load will resume travel tonight (Tuesday)
KOOSKIA - The oversized ConocoPhillips load en route to Montana on U.S. 12 will leave Kooskia tonight (Tuesday) after 10 p.m., the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The load left the Port of Lewiston on Thursday, Feb. 17, and traveled to the Orofino area early the next morning. Friday night (Feb. 18) and Saturday morning (Feb. 19) it traveled to Kooskia, and has been waiting for highway and weather conditions to improve.

Off-duty patrol officers from the Idaho State Police and Idaho Transportation Department crews are accompanying the oversized load to ensure safe travel and minimize impacts on motorists. Emergency medical personnel and pilot vehicles also accompany the load. ConocoPhillips has a total of four shipments. Each one is required to move between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Emmert International is transporting the load to a ConocoPhillips refinery in Billings, Mont.

ConocoPhillips established a toll-free information line, updated daily at noon, for reports on the shipment. The number is (866) 535-0138.

Motorists also can check ITD's website, itd.idaho.gov, the state's traveler service website, 511.idaho.gov, or dial 5-1-1 for information.
