ConocoPhillips equipment transport safely travels about 33 miles east of Kooskia

KOOSKIA - The oversized ConocoPhillips load en route to Montana on U.S. 12 safely reached milepost 106.8, about 33 miles east of Kooskia, this morning (Wednesday), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The equipment transport left a weigh station at Kooskia on Tuesday at 10 p.m., and arrived at 3:10 a.m. It encountered light traffic, and delays were within the 10 to 15 minutes allowed for the shipment.

Weather permitting, the equipment will travel next from milepost 106.8 to milepost 136.1.

Off-duty patrol officers from the Idaho State Police and crews from the Idaho Transportation Department accompanied the load to ensure safe travel and minimize impacts on motorists. Emergency medical personnel and pilot vehicles also accompanied the load.


It is the second of four ConocoPhillips equipment shipments traveling to a ConocoPhillips refinery in Billings, Mont. Emmert International of Clackamas, Ore., is transporting the loads.


Each one is required to move between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
