Nighttime I-84 lane restrictions will start Friday (March 4) near future Ten Mile Interchange
MERIDIAN - Nighttime interstate restrictions will begin tonight (Friday, March 4) and continue until next Wednesday (March 9) near the future Ten Mile Interchange, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Westbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane on Friday, Sunday and Monday nights (March 4, 6 and 7). Eastbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights (March 7-9).

All lanes will be open Saturday night and during the day.

Restrictions will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weeknights and between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. on weekends.

ITD is constructing a new I-84 interchange with on- and off-ramps at Ten Mile Road. The interchange is on schedule to open in early summer 2011. Ten Mile Road will re-open for north-south traffic in March.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
