Traffic lanes to be reduced next week west of Blackfoot for signal installation
POCATELLO - The installation of new traffic signals at the intersection of Idaho 39 and U.S. 26 west of Blackfoot will require lane reductions next week the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Crews from Mountain West Electric of Blackfoot will begin hanging mast arms and signal heads Monday (Oct 17) and should be done by mid-week. During installation, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions, controlled by flaggers. Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Although traffic will be maintained through the project, motorists can expect increased congestion and brief delays. The new lights should be operational by the end of October.
