Avalanche-prone section of Idaho 21 to close today at noon
BOISE - The 12-mile stretch of Idaho 21 between the
Grandjean Junction and Banner Summit is scheduled to close today (Wednesday,
March 30) at noon as an avalanche precaution for travelers' safety, the
Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The avalanche hazard is deemed "considerable." The weather is expected to turn warm quickly today, with snow turning to rain above elevations of 7,000 feet this evening. Avalanche conditions and weather forecasts will be reassessed Thursday morning.
