Expect minor impacts to traffic as bridge work begins on the Interstate 90 Pine Creek Bridge in the Silver Valley
COEUR d'ALENE -  A bridge rehabilitation project on the Interstate 90 Pine Creek Bridge in the Silver Valley will create minor impacts to traffic beginning Monday (April 4), the Idaho Transportation Department advises.

I-90 will be reduced to one lane in both directions u
ntil about May 31.

The bridge deck will have a 1.5-inch layer of concrete removed, damaged areas will be repaired and the bridge deck will be overlaid with a new concrete surface. Bridge approaches will receive a new asphalt surface and bridge joints also will be repaired. This work will extend the life of the bridge deck.

The contractor will be working every day, including weekends, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The highway will be reduced to one lane in each direction at all times until the project is completed.

The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

The contractor for this $640,000 project is Braun Jensen, of Payette, Idaho.
