I-86 westbound offramp at I-84/I-86 interchange to be closed Tuesday for ramp work
BURLEY - Travelers going from westbound Interstate 86 onto eastbound Interstate 84 will need to plan for a few extra minutes of driving. The ramp from westbound I-86 onto eastbound I-84 will be closed beginning Tuesday (April 5) for about a month, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The loop ramp, serving less than 100 vehicles per day, will be closed for repaving of the roadway. Traffic traveling from I-86 onto I-84 will be required to go farther westbound to the Declo Interchange (I-84 exit 216) before re-entering onto the eastbound lanes.

Signage will be placed at the on-ramps at Raft River and American Falls indicating the closure.

The closure is part of an approximately 15-mile rehabilitation project to the eastbound lanes of I-86 between the I-84/86 junction and the Raft River Interchange. Small portions of the I-86 westbound lanes and I-84 will be improved as part of the project.

Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise is the contractor for the $11 million repaving project. The project is expected to be completed in July.
