Flaggers will assist traffic, runners on High Bridge Saturday for Race to Robie Creek
BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department will station flaggers on the High Bridge over Lucky Peak Reservoir to assist with heavier-than-usual traffic for the Race to Robie Creek on Saturday (April 16).
Construction crews will not be working on the project during the weekend, as is usually the case, but the 9-foot width restriction will remain in place. Flaggers will be stationed on the bridge starting at 9 a.m. and will direct traffic north and south and to Spring Shores.
The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, which oversees Spring Shores Marina on the north side of the bridge, also will help with the event. Their press release is at: http://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/article.aspx?newsid=342
A project has been under way since mid-December 2010 to upgrade the Mores Creek Bridge (High Bridge) over Lucky Peak Reservoir on Idaho 21 east of Boise. The bridge deck is being repaved and structural upgrades made to the bridge and foundation.
Crews have finished stabilization at the bridge foundation for this year. Due to a sooner-than-normal rise in the water level, crews will have to complete the foundation work during the next water draw-down period after Labor Day this fall. In the meantime, work will continue above water level.
One lane of the bridge remains open to traffic.
RSCI, of Meridian, is the contractor on the $2.8 million project.
