Watch for delays at U.S. 93/I-84 junction beginning Tuesday
JEROME - Drivers should be prepared for lane restrictions and signal-timing changes at the junction of U.S. 93 and Interstate 84 beginning Tuesday (April 19), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Traffic shift onto the southbound lanes into a two-lane, two-way configuration as crews prepare to excavate the northbound lanes for roadway reconstruction. One lane in each direction will be maintained throughout the project.

Because of the lane restrictions, traffic signals at the eastbound and westbound I-84 ramps will be adjusted. Signal timing will allow traffic to flow in one direction at a time. The single-phase signal allows for turning traffic, but also will create longer delays and will impact traffic during peak hours. Drivers are urged to use an alternate route.

Knife River Corporation Northwest of Boise is the contractor for the $5.2 million project that includes reconstruction and minor widening of nearly two miles of U.S. 93. The project is expected to be completed in October.
