Idaho 8 resurfacing scheduled in Moscow; public meetings to begin May 13
LEWISTON - A project to resurface a portion of Idaho 8 from White Place to the South Fork Palouse River Bridge in Moscow will begin May 16 and continue until late August, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Construction meetings, featuring the latest information on project schedules and activities, are open to the public. The meetings begin May 13 and continue through Aug. 26 at Moscow City Hall in the council chambers at 1 p.m. All of the weekly meetings will be on Fridays, except for one in mid-June that will be on Thursday, June 16.

Approximately one-half mile of the project, from White Place to Mountain View Road, will be reconstructed with concrete pavement. An asphalt overlay of about two inches will be applied to 1.5 miles of the highway between Mountain View Road and the South Fork Palouse River Bridge.

Preparations for the project may begin next week (May 9-13), but should not impact travel. Traffic through the work zone will be limited during construction, so motorists are advised to use an alternate route if possible.

Acme Concrete Paving, of Spokane, Wash., is the contractor for the $2.5 million federally-funded project.
