Overlay on Idaho 21 from Robie Creek to Idaho City to begin May 17
BOISE COUNTY - A thin asphalt layer will be added to a 17-mile stretch of Idaho 21 between Robie Creek and Idaho City beginning Tuesday (May 17), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The work will take about two months to complete.

This project, from milepost 22-39, will receive a thin-lift overlay of 1.8 inches of new pavement to extend the life of the pavement and restore the driving surface for a smoother ride.

Please access ITD's Facebook page here for a map of the project area.

One lane will be closed during the overlay work, with pilot cars and flaggers directing traffic. No lane closures are allowed at night. Crews will work from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The speed limit in that area will be reduced to 35 mph, and to 25 mph in some areas.

Central Paving Co. Inc., of Boise, is the contractor on this $2.1 million project.
