ExxonMobil contested case hearing concludes Wednesday in Boise
BOISE - A contested case hearing on a proposal by Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil to move equipment on U.S. 12 concluded Wednesday.

The hearing gave opponents of the shipments the opportunity to present their case to an independent hearing officer, Duff McKee. It also gave the Idaho Transportation Department the opportunity to demonstrate the steps taken to move the equipment safely and efficiently.

A date has not been set for McKee to issue his recommendations to the transportation department. After he gives those formal recommendations, there is a 14-day period in which a party to the contested case hearing can file a petition for reconsideration by the hearing officer.

The hearing officer has 21 days to respond to a petition to reconsider. ITD Director Brian Ness has 56 days from the issuance of the recommendations to announce his final order.
