Highway resurfacing to begin Monday (June 13) on Idaho 13 between Grangeville and Kooskia
GRANGEVILLE – A highway resurfacing project, including construction of gabion walls and guardrails is scheduled for Idaho 13 between Grangeville and Kooskia, beginning Monday (June 13), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The seven-mile project between mileposts 11 and 19 (South Fork of Clearwater River Bridge to Howard Creek) also will include highway shoulder improvements and pipe extensions at several locations. Resurfacing will include recycled pavement and an asphalt pavement overlay. Last year rock excavation was completed near mileposts 13 and 14.
Motorists should expect brief delays in the construction zone with traffic controlled by flaggers and possibly pilot cars, primarily during daylight hours. Temporary traffic signals will regulate traffic on the one-lane highway during gabion wall construction near mileposts 12 and 14.
Temporary traffic signals will operate 24 hours a day, beginning Monday (June 13) and continuing through about July 19. The project should be completed by late August.
Poe Asphalt Paving, Inc., of Clarkston, Wash., is the contractor for the $2.6 million project.
