Paving project north from Nevada line begins Monday

TWIN FALLS – A base stabilization process and full-width asphalt overlay of U.S. 93 for about five miles in southern Twin Falls County will begin on Monday (June 20), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Beginning Monday, drivers can expect delays as construction crew begin to pulverize the roadway throughout the project limits and begin paving. The approximately 5.5-mile, full-width rehabilitation project north from the Nevada state line will remove cracking, rutting and potholes, restore the surface smoothness and increase the structural value of the section.

Drivers are urged to usee caution when approaching the work zone and watch for flaggers. A pilot car will be used during work hours to lead traffic around the milling and paving operations. Watch for a 45-mph speed limit during non-work hours and a 16-foot width limit will be in force.

LeGrande Johnson Construction of Logan, Utah is the contractor for the $2.9 million rehabilitation project. The project is expected to be complete by the end of July.
