Blue Lakes lane restrictions for maintenance this week

TWIN FALLS – Drivers should prepare for traffic restrictions and detours in conjunction with asphalt repair on several locations of Blue Lakes Boulevard beginning Wednesday (June 22), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Crews will replace deteriorated pavement in the right-hand southbound lane of Blue Lakes Boulevard between the Bridgeview Boulevard and Canyon Springs Road as well as three locations between Addison Avenue and Kimberly Road. A small stretch of Addison Avenue West near Martin Street will be repaired. The locations were chose for repair due to significant deterioration, rutting and cracking of the asphalt surface.

The work on Blue Lakes near the Perrine Bridge and on west Addison Avenue will result in the closure of two lanes as the contractor completes milling and paving along the west side of the roadway. On Blue Lakes south of Addison, traffic will be detoured to avoid each construction zone, expediting the resurfacing. Drivers are cautioned to watch for changing traffic patterns on a daily basis throughout the area.

Work will begin daily at 7 a.m. and is expected to be concluded by 6 p.m. each day.

Drivers are urged to be cautious near the construction zone and watch for crew members and equipment. ITD appreciates the patience and cooperation of those driving through the work zone.

Idaho Sand and Gravel, of Jerome, is the contractor for the $90,000 state-funded maintenance project.
