Repaving in Owyhee County starts in late June
OWYHEE COUNTY - A preventative maintenance project on the pavement surface of 16 miles of Idaho 51 and another 16 miles of Idaho 78 will begin on Thursday (June 23), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

During the two-month project, traffic will be restricted to just one lane of the rural two-lane road. Flaggers and pilot cars will guide motorists.

Work will begin on Idaho 78 from Grand View to the junction of Idaho 51.  This will be followed by resurfacing on Idaho 51 from milepost 60-76, ending at the Snake River Bridge.

The work is necessary to correct cracking and roughness, and to preserve the existing highway system.
Idaho Sand & Gravel, of Nampa, is the contractor on this $3.4 million project.
