Sample drilling on I-84 between Nampa and Caldwell starts Sunday night
BOISE - Idaho Transportation Department crews will be drilling and taking core samples of roadway and roadbed base materials on Interstate 84 between Nampa and Caldwell next week, starting Sunday night (July 10).
From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, crews will be obtaining investigative samples needed for any future highway widening or pavement rehabilitation, from the Franklin Road exit in Caldwell to milepost 35, near the Garrity exit in Nampa.
One lane will remain open, but crews will close one of the two lanes as they proceed through the area, progressing at about one-half mile at a time. Crews will begin on the eastbound side of the freeway and then shift to the westbound side.
