Night work will reduce traffic to one lane through south end of the Sand Creek Byway project

COEUR d’ALENE – Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the south end of the Sand Creek Byway project beginning Tuesday night (July 12), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The lane closure will be in place through Thursday night.

Crews will work from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. Flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone. The highway will re-open to two-way traffic each morning.

The continuing work on the byway project is being done at night to lessen the impact to motorists.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
