UPDATE: I-84 slab repair near Glenns Ferry under way
BOISE - A project is now under way to repair deteriorating concrete slabs on the east- and westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near Glenns Ferry, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The project is expected to finish in late September.

This pavement maintenance project will extend from milepost 114 (east Hammett) east to Glenns Ferry, a distance of about seven miles. The project began July 6.

Several badly damaged concrete slabs in that stretch will be removed and replaced. Repairs also will include resealing pavement joints, repairing pavement cracks and chips, and grinding portions from the existing pavement surface.

Crews have adopted an aggressive schedule, and will work Monday through Saturday. The speed limit will drop to 65 mph, and to 45 where workers are present.
