Third lane opens tonight (July 15) on eastbound I-84 near the Vista Interchange
BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department reminds motorists to slow down, pay attention and watch for signs on eastbound I-84 in Boise. Traffic patterns will continue to change at the Vista and Broadway exits.
A third eastbound travel lane opened last night between the Vista and Broadway interchanges. ITD will extend the lane tonight (Friday, July 15) to just west of the Vista Interchange.
The right-hand lane will be an exit-only lane at the Vista and Broadway interchanges.
ITD urges through traffic to merge left before approaching the Broadway Interchange. I-84 returns to two lanes at the Broadway Interchange.
The traffic changes will improve congestion for drivers during the final weeks of interstate construction.
ITD is widening I-84 to four lanes between the Cole/Overland and Broadway interchanges. Nighttime lane closures will continue this month while crews re-stripe the roadway and complete signage.
The $35.9 million project is expected to be completed by August 2011.
