South Wendell exit to close for a week for paving
WENDELL – As part of the full-width rehabilitation of Interstate 84, eastbound on- and off-ramps at the south Wendell Interchange (Exit 157) will be closed, beginning Friday, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Crews will pulverize and begin roadway rehabilitation of the ramps. Base reconstruction and paving will take about a week.
Eastbound traffic will use the west Wendell Interchange (Exit 155) to access the area and enter I-84 beginning Friday morning (Aug. 5). Traffic will be detoured to Idaho 46/Idaho Street and to Main Street.
Westbound traffic will continue to use the south Wendell Interchange. Exit 155 continues to be closed to westbound traffic.
The closure is part of the eight-mile roadway rehabilitation and resurfacing project expected to restore surface smoothness between Wendell and Tuttle. The westbound on-/off-ramps at Exit 157 will be closed for similar work in the coming weeks.
Western Construction Inc., of Boise, is the contractor for the $11.3 million paving project. The project should be completed by September.
