New traffic signal at U.S. 95 and Lancaster Road to be activated Friday
COEUR D’ALENE - The new traffic signal at U.S. 95 and Lancaster Road will be activated, starting this Friday (Aug. 12), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The signal is the last step in a $6 million project to widen U.S. 95 to a four-lane, divided highway from Wyoming Avenue to Idaho 53.
To help drivers get used to the new signal, the traffic light will be set in the flashing mode through the weekend. The signal will be fully operational by the Monday afternoon commute.
The contractor is Interstate Concrete and Asphalt, of Coeur d'Alene. The project is funded with savings from federal highway stimulus projects bid earlier in 2010.
