Golf Course Road right-turn lane to close today
JEROME – The free-running right turn and acceleration lane will be closed for the remainder of construction at the intersection of U.S. 93 and Golf Course Road north of the Perrine Bridge, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Crews are excavating signal poles throughout the project area, including the southwest corner which will require closure of the turn lane. Drivers will be required to go to the eastbound stop sign before turning south.
Crews have been drilling under the roadways to install electrical conduit and excavating for signal pole foundations. Concrete will be poured and allowed to strengthen before installation of the poles begins.
Drivers may encounter lane closures as crews prepare to construct the additional northbound turn lane, widen Golf Course Road or work on other portions of the intersection. The contractor will perform much of the road work at night but restrictions may take place throughout the day.
Gordon Paving Inc., of Twin Falls, is the contractor for the $985,000 federally funded project. Work is expected to be complete by early September. Work was delayed while key components of the project where shipped to the site.
