Horseshoe Bend Hill repairs to occur Thursday
BOISE -- Spot repairs on various sections of Idaho 55, primarily on the north side of Horseshoe Bend Hill, will begin Thursday (Aug. 11) after the morning commute, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The repairs in nine different spots will likely take all day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic will be slowed to 35 mph through the construction area. Flaggers will direct traffic in the two-lane section and lane shifts in the four-lane sections.

After repairs are completed, traffic will be limited to 45 mph overnight for “brooming,” or sweeping, any excess rock chips from the roadway. Pavement markings will be replaced when the project is completed.

The contractor for the repairs, Snake River Construction, earlier this summer applied seal coats on Idaho 44 and Idaho 55 near Boise, on Idaho 71 near Cambridge and Idaho 55 near McCall as part of a $700,000 contract.
