RESENDING: On- and off-ramps at Idaho 50 Interchange (Exit 182) will close for paving project on Thursday, Friday

TWIN FALLS – Nighttime drivers on Interstate 84 may be impacted on Thursday and Friday nights (Aug. 18-19) as a paving operation in eastern Jerome County will require closure of the on- and off-ramps at the Idaho 50 interchange (Exit 182) for a few hours each night, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Crews are expected to pave through the westbound ramps sometime between the hours of 7 p.m. on Thursday and 7 a.m. on Friday. The process will close the westbound ramps for three to four hours each. The eastbound lanes could also be closed during the Thursday-to-Friday operation but will likely be closed during the same hours of operation on Friday night and Saturday morning.

The ramp closures are part of a full-width asphalt overlay of I-84 between the Idaho 50 Interchange and Burley. Paving is already completed on the section of I-84 between Ridgeway Road (Exit 194) and Burley.

Knife River Corporation Northwest, of Boise, is the contractor for the $7.8 million repaving project. The project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
