Friday night detour planned at Nampa’s I-84 Franklin Boulevard eastbound on-ramp

NAMPA – Overnight Friday (August 19), the Interstate 84 eastbound on-ramp at Nampa's Franklin Boulevard interchange will close for concrete paving, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The closure is necessary due to the narrowness of the ramp and the width of paving equipment.

Crews are scheduled to begin work Friday at 10 p.m. and conclude by Saturday at 5 a.m. Lanes on I-84 will remain open. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route while the ramp is closed. Detour signs will be posted and electronic message signs will alert motorists.

The ramp paving is part of the of I-84 widening project between the Franklin and Garrity interchanges.

Motorists can expect ongoing, intermittent nighttime lane closures for both east- and westbound traffic as crews work to complete the project by early 2012. All I-84 lanes remain open during the day, and work may be weather dependent.

Concrete Placing Company, of Boise, is the contractor on this $22.2 million project.
