Amity Avenue online Q & A sessions will begin Tuesday (Aug. 23)

BOISE - The city of Nampa and the Idaho Transportation Department will sponsor online question-and-answer sessions  Tuesday and Thursday (Aug. 23 and 25) to explain upcoming improvements to Amity Avenue.

The sessions will begin at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. at www.cityofnampa.us/engineering.

Residents may log in anytime during the one-hour sessions. Nampa Senior Transportation Planner Clair Bowman will answer questions during those times.

The improvements include widening Amity Avenue from two to four lanes between Chestnut Street and Kings Road, improving the Chicago Street and Powerline Road intersections and adding sidewalks on both sides of the road.

Public comments will be accepted until Sept. 15 by e-mail (bowmancm@cityofnampa.us), mail (Nampa City Hall, 411 3rd St., Nampa, 83651) or during the online Q&A sessions. Sixty people also attended a public hearing about the project on Aug. 17.

The city and ITD have prepared an environmental document explaining how the project will affect the surrounding area, including 121 properties along the one-mile corridor. Details are available at www.cityofnampa.us/engineering.
