Night work on Broadway Avenue (U.S. 30) in Buhl to install pavement markings

BUHL – Crews will enhance the pavement markings on Broadway Avenue (U.S. 30) overnight Saturday (Sept. 10) through Buhl, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Crews will work for one night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to install durable, long-lasting pavement markings to replace the existing paint striping. Broadway Avenue in Buhl was selected for the durable markings because traditional paint markings have shown a reduced longevity in areas of higher traffic volume.

Work will include milling into the existing surface and placing recessed markings on U.S. 30 from the intersection of Sawtooth Boulevard/Fruitland Avenue to the intersection of Burley Avenue/Clear Lake Road. The process of milling will create higher noise levels, but night work is being employed to avoid higher traffic volumes.

One lane will be closed while crews are working. Drivers should watch for flaggers and be prepared for delays of as much as 10 minutes.

Specialized Pavement Markings, of Tualatin, Ore., is the contractor for the $155,000 road-marking project. The project is scheduled to be complete in one night.
