U.S. 95 rockfall mitigation delays postponed
LEWISTON - A rockfall mitigation project scheduled to begin today south of Grangeville has been delayed temporarily, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The safety project on U.S. 95 about 8.5 miles south of Grangeville (at the top of the White Bird Grade) will remove loose rock and secure a steep slope next to the highway to reduce the risk of rockfall, rockslides and occasional landslides along a 2,200-foot corridor.

Project engineers are re-evaluating a traffic control plan for the project that initially called for closures of up to 90 minutes on weekdays between 7:45 a.m. and 7 p.m.
