Highway junction in Declo to be repaired beginning Monday, drivers should expect short closures on Idaho 77
DECLO – Drivers will need to be prepared for delays and a short-term intersection closure at the junction of Idaho 77 and Idaho 81 beginning Monday (Sept. 26) for asphalt maintenance, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
ITD crews will be replacing rutted and cracked pavement from each lane of Idaho 81 as well as the southbound lane of Idaho 77 in and around the intersection. The north- and southbound lanes will be closed for short intervals after new asphalt is placed on Idaho 81 on both Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
The crew is scheduled to mill and pave the westbound lanes of Idaho 81 on Monday followed by the eastbound lanes on Tuesday. The southbound lane of Idaho 77, north of the intersection, will be completed on Wednesday.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction while crews are present. Drivers should watch for flaggers and are asked to use caution when approaching the intersection. During the short durations of closure – expected to last about two hours each day – drivers are asked to find an alternate route. A 12-foot width restriction will also be in effect through the work zone.
