Webpage gives schedules for over legal shipments on U.S. 12, U.S. 95 and I-90

BOISE – Travel schedules for over legal shipments on U.S. 12, U.S. 95 and Interstate 90 are now available online for ExxonMobil/Mammoet and Weyerhaeuser/Nickel Bros shipments, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Visit http://www.itd.idaho.gov for information on over legal loads moving on those highways.

Information includes the highway being traveled, dimensions of the over legal shipment, travel schedule, if a transport will be traveling more than one night and hours of travel. There also is an option to receive automatic e-mail updates on shipments.

The webpages are a cooperative effort with the transportation department and Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil and its shipper Mammoet and Weyerhaeuser and its shipper Nickel Bros.

“There is an on-going interest in the loads being shipped by these two companies,” said Idaho Transportation Department Director Brian Ness. “The department, Exxon and Weyerhaeuser and its shippers needed to improve the availability and timeliness of this information to the public and media. Now, these are available online or by an automatic e-mail notification.”

The webpages will be updated 24 hours in advance of a shipment by Exxon or Weyerhaeuser.

As other companies request over legal permits for those highways, how information will be provided to the public and media will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
