U.S. 20 to be closed Thursday (Dec. 15) for waste shipment
RIGBY - U.S. 20 will be closed approximately 30 miles west of Idaho Falls during early morning hours Thursday (Dec. 15) while waste drums are shipped to the Materials and Fuels Complex, formerly Argonne Laboratories, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) has been given permission to stop traffic on the highway for up to two hours to allow unhindered movement of waste from the Radioactive Waste Management Complex to the Materials and Fuels Complex. The closure is planned from 2 to 5 a.m. between mileposts 266 and 276.
