Paving, guardrail, and bridge-repair project on Idaho 16 in Ada and Gem counties slated for 2012
BOISE - An 11.5-mile section of rural, two-lane Idaho 16 in Ada and Gem counties will be repaved in summer 2012, and the project also will include rehabilitation work on the Black Canyon Canal Bridge in Emmett.
About two inches of new asphalt will be applied to the roadway surface. The old bridge deck will be milled off, patched and waterproofed, with two inches of new concrete applied to the deck surface. About 8,500 feet of guardrail also will be replaced.

The repairs will extend the life of the roadway surface, provide a smoother ride for drivers, improve traction and improve safety.
