UPDATE: Schedule change allows crews to finish early on paving ramps at Garrity interchanges

NAMPA - Crews will complete work ahead of schedule today (Thursday, Nov. 3) on the Interstate 84 on- and off-ramps at Nampa's Garrity Boulevard interchange.

Paving crews are making faster-than-expected progress, and to avoid inclement weather forecast for tomorrow, they are working later than expected today and will not have to close the ramp tomorrow if they are able to finish.

- The Franklin Boulevard westbound off-ramp, completed yesterday, and the Garrity eastbound off-ramp, completed today, have re-opened to traffic.

- The Garrity westbound on-ramp is closed until late afternoon/early evening for paving. By extending the hours of operation into early evening, crews expect to finish entirely and will not require a closure of the ramp on Friday, as earlier expected.

Crews are able to move paving equipment to the westbound on-ramp this afternoon in an effort to make the most of warm temperatures, avoid inclement weather anticipated for tomorrow and complete work a full day ahead of schedule.

Signs are posted to alert motorists of the construction work. During the remaining closure, motorists are advised to find alternate routes. All I-84 lanes will remain open during the day.

Ongoing, intermittent night-time lane closures can be expected for both east- and westbound traffic as crews work to complete the project by early 2012. The work schedule may be affected by weather.

Concrete Placing Company, of Boise, is the contractor on the $22.2 million project.
