TRAFFIC ALERT: I-84 Westbound Garrity Boulevard on-ramp closed Tuesday night (Nov. 29)
NAMPA – The Interstate 84 westbound on-ramp at Garrity Boulevard will close at 10 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 29) and reopen at 5 a.m. Wednesday. The closure will allow crews to safely install four light pole bases.
Crews also will apply permanent striping to the on- and off-ramps in the I-84 Franklin-Garrity project area in the coming weeks. That work is temperature-dependent and is planned during daytime hours. Traffic will be shifted around the work zone when the striping occurs. Motorists are advised to use extra caution in the confined work areas.
The ramp work is part of the I-84 Franklin to Garrity widening project. Motorists might experience intermittent nighttime lane reductions on this stretch of interstate. All lanes remain open during the day, and work might be weather dependent.
Once these interstate improvements are complete, I-84 between Franklin and Garrity will be widened to three lanes in each direction, with an additional auxiliary lane for eastbound traffic. The auxiliary lane will allow motorists to enter I-84 at Franklin, remain in the far right lane, and exit at Garrity - never having to merge with interstate through traffic.
Concrete Placing Company, of Boise, is the contractor on this $22.2 million project.
