REMINDER: Donate Life media event today at 10 a.m.

BOISE – Lacey Haye, an Idaho teen and organ donor, will be honored on the 2012 Donate Life Float in the 123th Rose Parade.  An event to complete the floragraph that will adorn the float will be held at the Idaho Transportation Department Auditorium, 3311 W. State St., Boise, at 10 a.m.

Lacey will be among 72 organ, eye and tissue donors who will be honored in the form of a floragraph, an artistic portrait created by using spices, seeds and other organic material, on the 2012 Donate Life float during the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA.  The floragraph of Lacey was decorated in early December in Pasadena and then sent to Idaho.  Her family and friends will be adding the finishing touches at the press conference at ITD.

More than 28,000 lives are saved each year in the U.S. through the gift of organ donation, giving hope to the more than 112,000 people awaiting a life-saving organ transplant.  In addition, every year hundreds of thousands of people need donated corneas and tissue to prevent or cure blindness, heal burns or save limbs.
