U.S. 2 between Sandpoint and Dover closed
SANDPOINT - The imminent washout of two culverts at Chucks Slough on U.S. 2 between Sandpoint and Dover led to indefinite closure of the road today, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Local westbound traffic from Sandpoint can get to Chucks Slough. Eastbound traffic is stopped at Dover.
The official westbound detour from Sandpoint going west is to take U.S. 95 south to Idaho 54, east on 54 and north on Idaho 41 back to U.S. 2.
Officials at the scene have no estimate on when crews might be able to reopen the highway.
