Paving operations near Timmerman Jct. begins Monday
SHOSHONE – Two roadway resurfacing projects near the junction of U.S. 20 and Idaho 75 in southern Blaine County are expected to begin as soon as Monday (May 14), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Crews will begin work on Idaho 75 from the Timmerman Rest Area entrance north to milepost 105.6 with milling at each end of the project, followed by paving an asphalt test strip. Pending an approved test strip, paving on Idaho 75 should be complete in about a week.
Crews will begin work on U.S. 20, starting with repairs and maintenance to the Big Wood River Bridge at Stanton Crossing next week. The paving operation will begin on U.S. 20 once complete on Idaho 75. The resurfacing project will extend from the Poison Creek crossing at milepost 171 to east of the Timmerman junction at milepost 181.
The paving operation is expected to be complete by mid-June. The contract then calls for a chip-seal coat, which is expected to take place in late June. The seal coat will include the Timmerman Rest Area and extend on Idaho 75 to milepost 107.
Knife River Corp. of Boise is the contractor for both resurfacing projects. The total contract amount is $2.75 million.
