Construction on two bridges in eastern Idaho to begin Tuesday (June 5)

RIGBY - Construction on two bridges in eastern Idaho will begin Tuesday (June 5), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Crews will resurface the decks of one overpass on Interstate 15 and one on U.S. 20. Work is expected to be complete as early as Monday (June 11).

Construction on County Line Interchange (Exit 318) on U.S. 20 northeast of Idaho Falls will begin Tuesday, and construction on the Sunnyside Interchange (Exit 116) on I-15 south of Idaho Falls will begin later in the week.

Travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction on U.S. 20 and Sunnyside Road, and the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph. Motorists are advised to anticipate merging traffic and obey all construction signs.

Commercial transporters hauling loads wider than 14 feet need to contact construction engineer Wade Allen (208-745-5680) 24 hours in advance for special authorization.

The contractor for the project is Build Inc., of Salt Lake City. The contract amount was $581,917 for resurfacing the decks of five bridges, three of which were finished last year:
