Paving project between Wendell, Buhl begins Thursday
BUHL – A highway resurfacing project on Idaho 46 between Wendell and Buhl is expected to begin later this week, the Idaho Transportation Department has announced
The project will be divided into two sections — near Buhl and south of Wendell. Paving will begin in Twin Falls County near 4300 North Road about a mile north of Buhl and will extend to the Snake River. South of Wendell, the project begins at I-84 and will end just north of 3400 South Road.
Paving is scheduled to begin on Thursday (June 7) and continue for about a week in both sections. The new asphalt also will receive a seal coat later this summer.
The highway will be reduced to a single lane during work hours. A pilot car will direct traffic through the work zones. Drivers should watch for flaggers and follow the posted 35 mph speed limit.
Idaho 46 is one of three sections on this contract. Knife River Corporation of Boise is the contractor for the $1.75 million project.
