REMINDER: Lewiston's U.S. 12 Dike Bypass to close Thursday for railroad crossing work
LEWISTON - The U.S. 12 Dike Bypass in Lewiston will be closed Thursday (June 21) for the replacement of a railroad crossing at 18th Street, the Idaho Transportation Department and city of Lewiston announced.
The project will begin at 3 a.m. and is expected to be completed by midnight. Crews from Great Northern Railroad (GNRR) and Railworks Inc. will upgrade the tracks, rail and ties, to improve durability by replacing the existing rubber panels in the crossing with ones made of concrete.
The work will be done by GNRR, and ITD will be assisting with the road closure.
