Construction on Idaho 31 southwest of Victor starts Monday (July 16)
RIGBY - Construction on Idaho 31, eight miles southwest of Victor, will begin Monday (July 16), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The project is scheduled for completion in early November.
Crews will replace leaky culverts under the highway south of Pine Creek Pass in Bonneville County. This stretch of highway is between mileposts 12 and 14 on Idaho 31.
Initially, flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists can expect brief delays.
Drivers should watch for construction workers, equipment and obey all traffic signs.
Leakage from the culverts, installed in the early 1950s, is damaging the roadway and eroding slopes.
Workers will insert pipe under the highway from the shoulder after building an access road. The shoulder and roadside will then be reclaimed.
The contract is for $993,755, which the transportation department awarded to Depatco Inc., of St. Anthony.
