Update: Pancheri Overpass, Idaho Falls — Pioneer Road in Idaho Falls to close starting Sunday (July 22)
RIGBY - Pioneer Road in Idaho Falls will close at its intersection with Pancheri Drive starting Sunday (July 22), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The road will reopen after it is rerouted in November to connect with Milligan Road as part of the Pancheri Overpass replacement project currently under way.
Motorists may access all businesses and residences on Pioneer Road from Sunnyside Road. Travel on Pancheri Drive will be maintained with one lane open in each direction.
Placement of girders on the new overpass structure and removal of the old overpass may necessitate intermittent delays on Interstate 15 at night. The nights and times for that work will be announced.
Construction is taking place seven days a week. Drivers should anticipate merging traffic and watch for construction workers and equipment.
